DON 3PLE-IG OPENS “HIP-HOP & R&B RETURNS” WITH THE SOUL-STIRRING “5:45AM (GHETTO GOSPEL)”
Don 3ple-ig begins his 16-track album, Hip-Hop & R&B Returns, on a deeply spiritual and socially conscious note with “5:45am (Ghetto Gospel).” The track combines heartfelt prayer, street poetry and reflective hip-hop to deliver a message of gratitude, compassion and hope.

Inspired by the quiet moments of a new dawn, the song captures the thoughts of a man who wakes at 5:45 a.m. and immediately acknowledges God for the gift of life. Its uplifting chorus establishes the song’s devotional foundation:
“I woke up in the morning, what comes into my mind?
First thing in the morning, I feel like praying.
I woke up in the morning, what comes into my mind?
To God Almighty, I give Him my praise.”

In the first verse, Don 3ple-ig paints a vivid picture of sunrise: the curtains open, daylight appears and the world prepares for another beginning. He recognizes that waking up to witness a new day is not merely a result of personal righteousness, but an expression of God’s mercy.
“I am living today because of His mercy;
That’s why I wanna give Him all the praises.”

However, “5:45am (Ghetto Gospel)” goes beyond personal thanksgiving. The second verse turns into an urgent prayer for society, drawing attention to orphans, the sick, homeless hustlers, vulnerable young girls, widening inequality and corruption. Don 3ple-ig challenges believers to demonstrate their faith through generosity and practical compassion:
“How can we say that we are believers
When we can’t practice being givers?”

The song also confronts dishonest leadership and calls for divine intervention before corruption and injustice lead society towards destruction. This gives the record its “Ghetto Gospel” identity: it is spiritual music rooted in the realities of ordinary people—their pain, struggles, prayers and determination to survive.

The final verse becomes a roll call of gratitude. Don 3ple-ig gives thanks for his parents, loved ones, friends, church community, relatives, DJs, MCs, fans and everyone who has supported his journey. He also celebrates his identity as a Black man and acknowledges God’s presence in his career, show business and hip-hop.

“5:45am (Ghetto Gospel)” is not conventional gospel music. It is a morning devotion delivered through rhythm and rhyme—a meeting point between faith, social responsibility and authentic street experience. Its central message is simple but powerful: every new day is a gift, prayer should produce compassion, and gratitude must extend beyond words into how we treat others.
As the opening track on Hip-Hop & R&B Returns, the song sets the tone for an album created to entertain, inspire and restore meaningful storytelling to music.

Hip-Hop & R&B Returns was available on all streaming platforms from 15th August 2026, the visuals are following each and every week. You can download to your device on this site and at www.don3ple-ig.com
